Ryan Lang opened the scoring and the floodgates for the Augusta Lynx, tacking on three more assists to pace the offense in a 7-3 demolition of the Charlotte Checkers on Friday night.

Lang opened the scoring from Joe Pereira and Brian Passmore just 2:26 into the contest, one of three goals scored within the first 5:42 of the game for Augusta. Passmore and Sullivan also marked for the Lynx to boost them to the early 3-0 lead. Charlotte managed a reply on a giveaway in front of the Lynx net, with Luke Stauffacher picking off a lead in front of Mike Wall and firing the puck past him on the blocker side to make it 3-1 after the opening frame.

Charlotte notched the only goal of the second period at 11:19 on the power play, with Mike Bayrack shoving a goalmouth pass by Wall with help from Dusty Jamieson to make it a 3-2 game through 40 minutes of play.

Augusta blew the game open in the third period staring with a power play goal from Pereira at 8:41, followed by even strength goals from Sullivan and Joel Perrault to make it 6-2. Charlotte drew the game back to 6-3 on a Jake Ortmayer goal, but Pereira's second of the period cemented the win at 17:59 from Lang and Chris Leinweber.

Wall earned the win with 17 saves, while Chris Holt took the loss by stopping 32 of 39 shots. Augusta finished the game 1-for-7 on the power play while Charlotte finished 1-for-2.
