
'Blades get McNeill back from AHL

ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades president & general manager Craig Brush, along with head coach Gerry Fleming announced today that defenseman Grant McNeill has be assigned to the team from the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League.
McNeill returns to the lineup after seeing action in two games with the Americans this past week. The Vermillion, Alberta native has skated in 18 games with the Everblades this season, collecting one assist and 69 penalty minutes. The trip to the AHL marked the third time in his pro career that McNeill has played games at that level.
McNeill, a 3rd round draft pick by the Florida Panthers in 2001, spent the majority of the 2004-05 season at the AHL level with San Antonio where he picked up two assists and 231 penalty minutes in 40 games. The 22-year-old also skated in 24 games with the Texas Wildcatters adding 111 PIM and three assists. In 2003-04 McNeill made his professional and NHL debut with the Panthers playing in three games. The Vermillion, Alberta native also played in 33 games during the '03-'04 season at the AHL level with San Antonio where he compiled 110 penalty minutes. Prior to turning pro, McNeill spent four years in the WHL with the Prince Albert Raiders, picking up 32 total points and 929 total penalty minutes in 260 career games.
The Everblades return to action on tonight when they host the Columbia Inferno at 7:30 p.m. from Germain Arena. Everblades half season, group tickets, and individual game tickets are on sale now!
