Sioux Falls, SD - The Muskegon Lumberjacks picked up one point after falling in overtime to the Sioux Falls Stampede 2-1.

Early in the first period, the Lumberjacks were awarded a power play opportunity, but unable to capitalize as Stampede goaltender, Stefanos Lekkas, made a couple big saves to keep the game scoreless. Devin Cooley started for the Lumberjacks and registered seven saves in the first frame, to keep the game 0-0 after one period of hockey.

Four minutes into the second period, the Lumberjacks second leading scorer, Collin Adams, netted his eighth of the season, to take a 1-0 lead. Dante Palecco notched the assist on the goal, and the Lumberjacks would take the 1-0 lead into the locker room after 40 minutes of play.

Late in the game, the Stampede pulled goaltender Lekkas, and scored with thirty seconds to go in the game, to force overtime.

The overtime frame featured fast-paced, back and forth hockey, and chances on both ends. With less than one minute to go before a shootout, Josh Passolt wristed one into the back of the net, and handed the Lumberjacks a 2-1 overtime loss.

The Muskegon Lumberjacks (10-9-2) will look to bounce back from the weekend, when they return home for a pair of games against the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders. On Friday, December 18th, it will be dollar beer, dollar dog night, with a special start time at 8:30 p.m. Saturday, December 19th, the Lumberjacks will host their Ugly Sweater Night, and puck drop will return to 7:15 p.m.
