Durham Bulls News Release

Durham, NC - Brandon Lowe connected for a three-run, two-out home run in the eighth inning to send Durham past Nashville 8-7 on Mother's Day at the DBAP.

With Nashville (18-21) lefty Darrell Thompson (L, 2-1) brought in specifically to face Lowe, the Tampa Bay all-star turned on a 1-1 pitch for a deep right field home run to cap a four-run frame for the Bulls (16-23). Earlier in the frame, Ronny Simon squeezed a run-scoring single into centerfield that assisted the rally.

Edwin Uceta (W, 1-1) notched the win, working two scoreless innings in his first game back with the Bulls after two appearances with Tampa Bay last week.

Jonathan Aranda clubbed a first-inning home run that gave Durham a 1-0 lead. However, Nashville hit four homers across the Sunday game and built a 7-3 lead after six innings.

With consecutive victories, Durham split the six-game set with Nashville.

The Bulls will have Monday off before facing Charlotte for the first time in 2024, opening a six-game series Tuesday night at 6:35 PM ET at Truist.

The Bulls return home Tuesday, May 21 against the Memphis Redbirds.

Tickets for all 2024 Durham Bulls home contests are available and can be purchased online at DurhamBulls.com.
