BRIDGEPORT, CT â The American Hockey League's Bridgeport Sound Tigers, top affiliate of the National Hockey League's New York Islanders, will play three games in three days this weekend visiting the Hartford Wolf Pack this Friday at 7:05 p.m. and returning home to host the Hershey Bears this Saturday at 7:05 p.m. and the Springfield Falcons this Sunday at 4:05 p.m.
Friday's game will be the ninth installment of the ten-game 2004-05 "Geico Connecticut Cup" in which season subscribers of both teams can purchase tickets to games in the opposing city at specially-discounted prices. Hartford full-season subscribers should present their Wolf Pack season-ticket-holder identification card in-person at Bridgeport's Arena at Harbor Yard box office while Sound Tigers full-season and 20-game subscribers should present their season-ticket-holder merchandise-discount card in-person at the Hartford Civic Center box office. The 2004-05 "Geico Connecticut Cup" will conclude when the Sound Tigers host the Wolf Pack in Bridgeport on Saturday, March 26th.
This weekend will be "Scout Weekend" at Bridgeport's Arena at Harbor Yard with discounted tickets for scouts who purchase in advance, as well as for those who purchase at the arena box office in-uniform. All scouts who attend in-uniform on Saturday or Sunday will receive a special Sound Tigers â Scout patch while supplies last. Saturday night will also be the annual "Scout Sleepover" with a post-game skate and movie on the video boards for those participating in the sleepover. Advanced reservations are required for the "Scout Sleepover" and can be made by calling the Sound Tigers at 203-334-GOAL.
The first 1,000 fans ages 14 and under who enter Sunday's game will receive a free Sound Tigers foam claw. Sound Tigers wives and girlfriends will be selling red pins during Sunday's game to help promote the American Heart Association's "Go Red for Women" campaign. There will also be an open skate following Sunday's game for fans who bring their own skates.
All three of this weekend's games will be web-cast live at www.soundtigers.com. Friday's game in Hartford may be broadcast live on 600 WICC-AM as well depending on the University of Connecticut playoff-basketball schedule. Sound Tigers head coach Greg Cronin will also be interviewed live on WICC Friday at 9:30 a.m.
