Worcester IceCats News Release

WORCESTER, MA – When the IceCats faceoff against the Providence Bruins on Saturday night at 7:05 PM and again on Sunday at 4:05 PM with the Philadelphia Phantoms in town, the ‘Cats will be wearing special shamrock jerseys to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. The wearing of the green will culminate with a jersey auction at Sunday's game to benefit programming at Worcester City Parks and Recreation Department.

This longstanding partnership with Peterson Oil Service and the Telegram & Gazette, netted $26,000 for the cause last season alone. Since the IceCats first conducted the event in 1995-1996, the ‘Cats and their corporate partners have contributed over $116,000 to the program, which among other things, has kept city pools open during the summer.

For this Sunday's 4:05 PM faceoff, fans will have an opportunity to submit an entry bid throughout the first portion of the game. The process will then open up to a live auction at the conclusion of the first period. At the conclusion of the game, the winning bidders will be presented with their sweater in an on-ice ceremony, have a souvenir photo taken with the player and have the jersey signed. During the entire weekend, fans may purchase raffle tickets for a chance to win a shamrock jersey signed by the entire IceCats team.

Also on Sunday, all fans may partake in the FREE giant post game autograph session featuring the entire Worcester IceCats roster.

For tickets and information call the IceCats at 800-830-CATS.
