
Loons to Host Beer Tasting Event at Dow Diamond this Friday

MIDLAND, MI - The Loons will host an a unique beer tasting event this Friday, April 13, at Dow Diamond as part of the events surrounding Friday's 6:05 p.m. game against the visiting Fort Wayne Tin Caps.
Each participant in the beer tasting event will receive eight samples of specialty crafted beers, appetizers and a ticket to Friday's game. Available Michigan craft beers for sample during the event will be from the following breweries: Tri-City Brewing, Bell's Brewery, North Peak, Founders, Atwater, Arbor Brewing, Mt. Pleasant, New Holland and more. The event will take place in the confines of Lasorda's Landing, a covered group area located on the newly-renovated Great Lakes Reserve Level.
Tickets to the event are extremely limited, so fans interested in attending the tasting are encouraged to purchase their tickets in advance by calling 989-837-BALL or logging on to Loons.com.
In addition to the beer tasting, the Loons will host two additional food and drink themed events during the Loons 2012 season. A wine tasting event will take place at Dow Diamond on Friday, April 27, that will include 6 wine samples, appetizers and a ticket to the April 27 game. The wine event will also take place in Lasorda's Landing. The third and final food and drink themed event, the Loons Independence Day Luau, will take place in Dow Diamond's Northern Lights Pavilion on Tuesday, July 3. The event will include food, drinks and a ticket to the game, which will feature a post-game fireworks Loontacular.
Fans interested in participating in any of the food and drink themed events must be 21 or older. The Great Lakes Loons are a sixth-year Single-A partner of the Los Angeles Dodgers and are in the middle of their 5th Anniversary Celebration, which kicked off in August 2011 and will continue throughout the 2012 season.
