Great Lakes Loons News Release

DAYTON, OH - The Great Lakes Loons pounded out 14 hits and 14 runs en route to their biggest margin of victory of the season, defeating the Dayton Dragons 14-3 in front of a sold-out crowd of 9,129.

Kevin Taylor pounded his second homer of the season, a three-run shot that landed in the grass berm just to the right of straight-away center. Scott Schebler recorded four hits, including his league-leading sixth triple of the season.

Ryan O'Sullivan (3-3) threw a career-high 6 2/3 innings and notched his third win. He left having allowed just one run but was charged with a total of three after a pair of inherited runners were let in. The right-hander from California allowed just two walks and struck out six.

Taylor's home run was a part of a six-run offensive outburst in the fifth inning that drove Dayton starter Radhames Quezada (1-5) out of the game. One inning later, the Loons pushed across four scores highlighted by back-to-back triples by Schebler and Jesse Bosnik on consecutive pitches.

Just for good measure, Noel Cuevas led off the ninth with a long first-pitch solo home run to left, his second homer of the year.

All nine Loons position players in the lineup reached base.

The Loons (23-20) and Dragons (15-28) continue their three-game series with a Sunday 2pm matinee. Right-hander Gustavo Gomez (4-2 3.66 ERA) is scheduled to start for the Loons against Dragons lefty Tanner Robles (2-3, 2.89). The game will be broadcast live on ESPN 100.9-FM and online at ESPN1009.com.

The Great Lakes Loons are a sixth-year Single-A partner of the Los Angeles Dodgers and are in the middle of their 5th Anniversary Celebration, which kicked off in August 2011 and will continue throughout the 2012 season.
