
Loons Make First Roster Move of 2007

The Los Angeles Dodgers have announced the addition of infielder Elian Herrera to the Great Lakes Loons' roster. To make room for Herrera, infielder Michael Rivera was transferred to the Ogden roster.
Herrera began the season with the Inland Empire 66ers, where he was hitting .200 in 30 at bats with no home runs and four RBIs. He will wear the uniform number 44.
Herrera, a native of San Pedro de Macoris, Dominican Republic, was named to the Gulf Coast League postseason all-star team in 2006 after batting .327 in 36 games for the GCL Dodgers. He has been in professional baseball since signing with the Dodgers May 14, 2003. For a complete biography on Herrera, see page 37 of the Loons' Media Guide.
Rivera was batting .211 in six games for the Loons.
