Chattanooga Lookouts News Release

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - Matt Maloney made an impressive start in his first ever appearance at AT&T Field, and the Lookouts offense supplied the needed runs en route to a 5-3 win over the Jacksonville Suns in Monday night action at AT&T Field.

The Lookouts took advantage of some first inning wildness from Jacksonville starting pitcher Zach Hammes (5-6). After two walks and a force out, Adam Rosales crossed home plate on a Hammes' wild pitch, giving the Lookouts a 1-0 lead.

Jacksonville countered in the second by taking the lead on a two-run homer from Albert Concepcion.

The Jacksonville lead would be short-lived, as the Lookouts plated three runs in the fourth. Daniel Dorn led off the rally with a walk. After a Craig Tatum strike out, Shaun Cumberland singled to right to advance Dorn to second. Luis Bolivar followed with an RBI single, tying-up the score, 2-2. Lookouts pitcher Matt Maloney (1-1) successfully advance both runners by executing a sacrifice bunt.

A subsequent two-RBI Adam Rosales double gave the Lookouts 4-2 lead. The Suns would come within a run of the Lookouts on a Kevin Howard homer in the sixth; however, a Danny Dorn solo shot gave the Lookouts a 5-3 cushion.

Josh Roenicke would preserve the Lookouts' lead, while earning his fourth save of the season, by shutting-out the Suns in the ninth. The Lookouts will embark upon a five-game away series against the Montgomery Biscuits, Wednesday. The Lookouts will return to AT&T Field on Tuesday, August 14th.
