Lookouts Extend Win Streak to Five with 8-5 Victory

The Lookouts use a seven run second inning to propel them to their fifth straight win and their 11th win out of their last 13.

Tennessee jumped out to a three run lead, but Chattanooga's bats answered loudly in the bottom of the second. Mitch Nay started off the inning with a bang, smacking a solo home run. Catcher Chris Okey followed that up with a double and later scored on a Jordan Johnson sacrifice bunt. The team proceded to load the bases and Ibandel Isabel smacked a single to plate two runs. For the second time in the inning, Mitch Nay stepped up to the plate and delivered a bases clearing double to make it 7-3.

Starter Jordan Johnson went four winnings and Victor Payano picked up the win. Ty Boyles came on in the seventh and threw two hitless innings to secure the hold. Closer Alex Powers then struck out the side to earn his sixth save of the season. Powers is now tied for first in the league in saves at six.

In the month of May the Lookouts are 6-1 and have outscored their oppenents by a score of 44-20.

Tomorrow, they aim to extend their win streak to six when they send out Johendi Jiminian for his first start of the season.
