LONG ISLAND - The Long Island Nets, the NBA G League affiliate of the Brooklyn Nets, have requested waivers on forward Phil Cofer.
Cofer was acquired from the available player pool on Feb. 12 to replace Long Island guard/forward Justin Anderson while he played for USA Basketball in the FIBA AmeriCup Qualifying Games. In one appearance with Long Island, Cofer recorded four points and five rebounds. In 24 games with Long Island and the College Park Skyhawks this season, Cofer has averaged 2.3 points and 2.5 rebounds in 11.0 minutes per game.
