(Joliet, IL)- The Slammers got beat by the long ball in Crestwood on Saturday night, dropping the series opener to the Windy City ThunderBolts 4-2.

Joliet battled back with a pair of runs in the sixth on a two-out rally. Hector Pellot and Erik Lis drew walks, and Zach Mandelblatt singled to bring home Pellot, and Lis scored on a fielding error, putting the tally at 2-1.

The ThunderBolts jumped ahead on two home runs in the bottom of the inning. Chad Cregar sent a solo shot deep to right field to tie the game, and with a runner aboard, Brandon Decker belted one to overtake Joliet 4-2.

Although Joliet starter Wander Alvino gave up four runs and was stuck with the loss, he threw a no-hitter through four and two-thirds innings. Windy City moundsman Dustin Williams earned the win.
