Rockford RiverHawks News Release
LOVES PARK, Ill. - The Rockford RiverHawks have activated pitcher Garrett Granitz from the disabled list and released pitcher Theron Minium.
Granitz had not pitched since June 5 because of a staph infection. The right-hander has no record, a 2.31 earned-run average and no saves in nine appearances.
The RiverHawks made room on the roster with the release of Minium, who was in his second year with the team. The left-hander pitched two scoreless innings of relief to get the victory in Rockford's 7-6, 12-inning win Friday at Normal. Minium was 1-0 with a 7.20 earned-run average and no saves in 14 relief appearances.
The RiverHawks are members of the Frontier League, an independent professional baseball league in its 20th season. Games are broadcast live on WNTA (100.5 FM). Advertising and season-ticket information is available by calling (815) 885-2255. Fans can also visit www.rockfordriverhawks.com.
