
Loggers Defeat the Rox Thursday 6-1

St. Cloud, Minn. - The St. Cloud Rox and the La Crosse Loggers kicked off a two-game series Thursday night at Joe Faber Field as the Rox round out their final home stand. The Loggers defeated the Rox by a final score of 6-1.
The Rox started the bottom of the first inning off right as Eric Loxtercamp had a lead off single and moved all the way to third off a single by Devin Pearson. Loxtercamp would then score on the throw as Chris Paul hit a sacrifice fly to left field for the Rox to lead 1-0 early.
In the top of the third La Crosse had runners on first and second as Johnny Bekakis singled to score Kevin Zak for the tying run and 1-1 game.
La Crosse extended their lead in the top of the fourth as they started the inning with three straight singles and on the third made it a 2-1 game. Later in the inning with two outs Kevin Zak hit a single taking the Loggers to a 3-1 lead over the Rox.
St. Cloud was not able to get a rhythm down, as they were unable to get a hit to still trail 3-1 after five complete innings.
The Loggers took their lead to a 5-1 ballgame in the top of the sixth putting up two runs on four hits. They would seal a 6-1 victory over the Rox in the top of the seventh as they Mike Nadratowski singled to score Eric Toole on two outs.
Starting on the mound for St. Cloud tonight was Jordan Talbot as he pitched three innings. Also seeing action was Michael Healey for two-thirds of an inning, Alex McRae for 2.1 innings of work, and closer Jason Condit went three innings on the mound. Healey was recorded with the loss.
The St. Cloud Times Rox' Player of the Game is Eric Loxtercamp. Loxtercamp went 1-for-3 and scoring one run for the Rox.
The St. Cloud Rox (33-34, 19-13 Second Half) and the La Crosse Loggers (41-26, 20-12 Second Half) will be back in action on Friday night closing out their series with the first pitch at 7:05 p.m. There will also be a post-game fireworks show presented by HealthPartners Central Minnesota Clinics.
