Four Errors Sting Bullfrogs in Willmar

Willmar, Minn. -- In LHP Ben Graff's final Bullfrog start, defensive miscues and timely Willmar hitting doomed the Bullfrogs on Thursday, as Green Bay fell 6-2 to the Stingers on Thursday.

Willmar took the first lead with a run in the second inning. Marc Flores, who scored two runs on the night, came in to score on an RBI groundout from Nick Halamandaris to jump out to a 1-0 lead.

The Stingers struck again with three runs in the fourth inning. Flores led off the inning with a double and promptly scored on an RBI triple from Michael Suchy, one batter later. Two more unearned runs came home later inning the inning on an error committed by Bullfrog SS Bryant Burleson, who had three errors on the night.

In the sixth inning, the Bullfrogs were able to get on the board for the first time. Trevin Sonnier and Robert Youngdahl led off the inning with back-to-back singles. Both later came around to score, Sonnier on a sacrifice fly from Bryant Burleson and Youngdahl on a single from Nick Torres.

The Stingers led the game 4-2 through six innings. The 'Frogs were able to keep it close until he eighth inning, when Willmar got to the Green Bay bullpen. Josh Daniels came in in relief of Ben Graff, who allowed two ER in seven innings. Daniels faced only three batters and loaded the bases before being relieved by Austin Franzen. Franzen walked home one run and another came home on a Green Bay error, its fourth one of the night.

With the two runs, Willmar took a 6-2 lead, the eventual final. The win went to Willmar's Nick Bates (4-1). The loss to Graff (0-6). Brett Dahlson earned a five out save, his 13th of the season.
