Alexandria thought they got an insurance run in the bottom of the sixth against the Loggers' bullpen. Aaron Gretz singled with one-out and Jake Bergren came in as a pinch runner. He stole second base and an error off the bat of Georgie Salem increased the Anchors' advantage 4-2.
Andy Johnson came in for the save but walked Rei to start the inning. After retiring the next two batters, Kevin Zak hit a two-run homer to centerfield to tie the game at four.
In the ninth inning with the score still tied, Rei again walked to start the inning. Nadratowski reached on a fielder's choice and Zak singled with two outs. Then on a 2-1 offering, Michael Katz homered to right-center giving La Crosse the 7-4 win.

The Blue Anchors made a brief comeback in the bottom of the second. Cusick singled to start the inning and Michael Barash moved him to third with a double. Dale singled in Cusick and Barash came around on an Andrew Mulato base hit. A one-out single by Tyler Curtis plated Dale and pulled the Anchors within one as they trailed 4-3.
La Crosse added onto their lead and put the game out of reach. The inning was highlighted by another Katz solo homer and an Eric Toole three-run blast, giving the Loggers a 9-3 lead.
