WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (August 4, 2015) - The Winston-Salem Dash and Flow Chevrolet have announced that Winston-Salem National Little League has won the 2015 Diamond in the Rough Ballpark Renovation.
A groundbreaking ceremony to kick off refurbishments on the facility's primary field will be held this Friday at 10 a.m. at Winston-Salem National Little League's facilities off Phillips Bridge Road. Several Dash players and front office members, will be in attendance.
Dash grounds crew members and Flow Automotive employees are expected to complete the necessary repairs and upgrades during the week of August 10. Winston-Salem National Little League officials will be honored at BB&T Ballpark on Friday, August 21, when the Dash host the Carolina Mudcats.
The Diamond in the Rough Ballpark Renovation contest, which ran from May 15 through July 15, invited area Little Leagues and softball leagues to submit videos to the Dash social media accounts on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Instagram to show why their field is deserving of a makeover.
This marks the second year of the Diamond in the Rough Ballpark Renovation program. Last year's winner was South Little League. The program follows similar baseball and softball field renovation programs that exist in both Major League Baseball and Minor League Baseball.
The Dash return to BB&T Ballpark on Friday following a three-game series in Carolina.
