HARRISBURG, Pa. - Second baseman Miguel Abreu had three hits and drove in two while Radhames Liz tossed 7.0 shutout innings to down Harrisburg 7-1. Abreu collected his team-leading 33rd multi-hit game of the season, as the Baysox put together a five-run fourth inning to pull away from the Senators.

The Baysox got on the board with a single run in the third innings against Harrisburg left-hander Cory VanAllen. Left fielder Jonathan Tucker led off the inning with a single, stealing second and third before being brought home on a RBI single by Abreu with two outs. The two steals gave Tucker 26 for the season, tying Akron's Jose Constanza for second best in the Eastern League.

The Baysox broke the game open in the fourth inning as left-hander Justin Jones came on in relief for Harrisburg. Shortstop Robert Valido started the inning with a single to center field. Jones issued free passes to third baseman Jason White and Tucker to load the bases, then hit center fielder Danny Figueroa with a pitch to bring a run across. First baseman Eric Crozier brought home a run with an RBI groundout and one batter later Abreu came through with a two-run single. After a walk to catcher Adam Donachie, designated hitter Kraig Binick tallied his first Baysox RBI with a single to left. In his first game with the Baysox since being promoted from Class A Frederick, Binick went 2-for-5 with a run scored and an RBI.

Liz remained in control to earn his fourth win in seven starts with the club this season. He did not walk a batter for the first time this season, striking out eight while allowing four hits. The right-hander did not allow a runner past first base until Edgardo Baez doubled to lead off the fifth inning. Liz has settled into a groove in his last four starts, allowing one earned run in 26.0 innings of work while striking out 27.

The Baysox added tacked on another run in the seventh against Senators right-hander Carlos Martinez. Binick led off the inning with a single and advanced to second on a base hit by Valido. White struck out swinging and Tucker grounded into a fielder's choice to put men at the corners with two outs. Figueroa came through with a two-out hit to bring home Binick, extending the lead to 7-0. Figueroa has been red-hot since the All-Star break, going 14-for-25 with nine runs scored, five RBI and two stolen bases in seven games.

Right-hander Jim Hoey came on in relief of Liz to start the eighth inning. The Trenton, N.J. native worked a scoreless eighth inning, but allowed a solo home run to Joel Guzman in the ninth inning to put Harrisburg on the board. The win improves the Baysox to 54-44 on the season, 5.5 games behind Akron for the Southern Division lead.

The two teams close out their four-game set tomorrow night as RHP Ryohei Tanaka (0-0, 1.33) takes on Senators RHP Erik Arnesen (6-3, 3.12). It will close out a season-long eight game road swing before heading back home to Prince George's Stadium to face the Reading Phillies on Friday.
