ENTERING TONIGHT'S ACTION...

Tonight, the SeaWolves look for their fourth consecutive win as they take the field in the third game of a four-game series against the Akron Aeros (Cleveland Indians) at Jerry Uht Park. Last night, the 'Wolves battled for a 5-2 win over Akron to win their ninth straight over the league's top club. Erie is a perfect 9-0 against Akron at home and have won 11 of the first 13 games of the season series. A win in either of the final two games of the series will give the 'Wolves their third consecutive series win over Akron. The SeaWolves have won nine of their last 10 home games and are the top home team in the Eastern League with a 34-15 record and .693 winning percentage at "The Uht"...The SeaWolves are a season-high 12 games over .500 and are tied with Connecticut for the second-best record in the EL. Erie enters play tonight as the hottest team in the league going 8-2 in the last 10 games. The club is 13-6 in July...Akron enters tonight's gave having lost seven of its last 10. Since starting the season 28-8, Akron has gone 31-30 since May 19. The Aeros are 2-11 against Erie and 57-27 against the rest of the EL...Through 96 games, the 'Wolves have a better record than the Southern Division Championship club of 2007. That season, the team was 53-43 through 96 games...Righty Pat Stanley looks to rebound after a rough outing in his last start against Binghamton where he gave up eight runs, seven earned, in 3.1 innings...Lefty Ryan Edell took a no-decision in his last start against Erie on July 11. He struck out a career-high 10 hitters in the game. Erie won the game after taking a lead in the eighth on a three-run home run by Ron Bourquin giving Edell a no-decision.

- Erie leads the season series over Akron 11-2. The SeaWolves and Aeros meet 27 times in 2009. It is the most times Erie will face an opponent in 2009.

- Erie's pitching staff is sixth in the league with a 3.78 team ERA. Akron's pitching staff is tied for third in the league with a 3.42 team ERA.

- Erie is fourth in the league with a .265 team batting average. Akron is tied for ninth in the league with a .255 team batting average.

- Ryan Strieby is third in the league with 17 home runs, is second with a .421 on-base percentage and is third with a .561 slugging percentage.

- Alex Avila is second in the league throwing out potential base stealers at a clip of 46.4 percent.
