Lindell Called up to NHL's Dallas Stars

CEDAR PARK, Texas - The Texas Stars, American Hockey League affiliate of the NHL's Dallas Stars, announced a pair of roster moves on Monday as defenseman Esa Lindell was called up to the NHL while defenseman Zack Kamrass was assigned to the team's ECHL affiliate, the Idaho Steelheads.

Lindell, 21, currently leads all Texas defensemen with 25 points this season (7-18=25) and is tied for first with seven goals in 42 games in his first full AHL season. Lindell also ranks fourth on the club with a +9 plus/minus rating this season.

The 6-foot-3, 210-pound native of Vantaa, Finland was selected by Dallas in the third round (74th overall) of the 2012 NHL Draft. He is the fifth player from Texas to be called up to the NHL this season.

Kamrass, 25, made his AHL debut on Jan. 15 in Texas' 4-2 win at Bakersfield. He has appeared in 37 ECHL games this season for Idaho with 16 points (3-13=16). The 5-foot-11, 190-pound native of Atlanta, Ga. is currently in his first full professional season after finishing a four-year career at the University of Massachusetts-Lowell (NCAA) from 2011-2015.

The Texas Stars are the primary development affiliate of the NHL's Dallas Stars and currently in their seventh season at Cedar Park Center.
