
Lightning Sign D Geoff Kinrade to Tryout

TAMPA BAY, FL - The Tampa Bay Lightning, NHL parent club of the Norfolk Admirals, have signed defenseman Geoff Kinrade to an Amateur Tryout Contract, it was announced today by Lightning Executive Vice President and General Manager Brian Lawton.
Kinrade, a 6-foot-0, 195-pound native of Nelson, British Columbia, has one goal and four points with a plus-3 rating in eight games with the Admirals this season. He was originally signed to an Amateur Tryout Contract by the Admirals on March 20 and made his professional debut that night, scoring the game-winning goal on his first professional shot in his first professional game - a 4-2 victory over the Binghamton Senators.
Kinrade finished his collegiate career with Michigan Tech last month. In 150 career games with the Huskies, the blueliner scored 14 goals and added 47 assists with 124 penalty minutes. The 23-year-old served as an alternate captain with Michigan Tech this season. In 38 games, Kinrade scored three goals and added 13 assists with 18 penalty minutes, tying for fourth on the team in scoring and tying for second in assists.
The Admirals will continue a season-ending four-game road trip tomorrow night against the Binghamton Senators. The puck drops at 7:05 p.m., and the game can be heard on 100.5 MAX-FM.
