LHV Game Notes

August 9, 2018 - International League (IL1)
Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release

In a battle of first-place teams, the IronPigs (70-45) play the finale of three-game series against the West-leading Indianapolis Indians (64-51) at Victory Field... With a 4-3 walk-off loss yesterday, the Pigs have dropped back-to-back games for just the first time since July 18-19 and have started 0-2 on this six-game, West Division road trip. Still, with a Scranton/WB loss last night, the Pigs' Magic Number to clinch the North was trimmed to 15. Lehigh Valley has won 13 of its last 19 affairs and 22 of its last 31 contests and owns a 41-19 record since June 3 -- going from 0.5 games back to 10.0 games ahead... The Indians -- Pittsburgh's top affiliate -- have now gone 12-4 in their last 16 contests. In fact, the Indians own a 39-24 record after falling to a season-low water mark at 25-27 on June 1 -- going from 8.5 games back to a season-high 4.0 games ahead... Next up for the Pigs is a three-game set in Louisville, which is 16-6 since since July 17.

RHP Tom Eshelman (2-10, 5.48) will start for LHV against RHP Mitch Keller (0-2, 7.99).

First-Pitch tonight is at 7:05 p.m.
