Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release

After a rain out last night, the IronPigs play a doubleheader to start a three-game series against the Rochester Red Wings at Frontier Field. So far through five days of the season, the Pigs have played on just one day -- their unscheduled doubleheader as the road team at Coca-Cola Park on Friday as a result of unplayable field conditions at NBT Bank Stadium. In that twinbill, they were swept by scores of 5-1 and 2-1 in front of zero fans (the games were closed to the public as preparations for the home opener at CCP were still underway)... The Red Wings -- Minnesota's top affiliate -- finished in second place in the North with a 77-67 record a year ago. The Wings have started this season by taking two of three from Scranton/WB (1-1 in Moosic; 1-0 in Rochester).

In Game 1, RHP Zach Eflin (8-6, 3.69 in EL in 2015) will make his Triple-A debut for LHV against LHP Logan Darnell (5-1, 2.78 in IL in 2015).

In Game 2, RHP Mark Appel (10-3, 4.47 in 2015) will start for LHV against RHP David Martinez (3-5, 3.21 in AAA in 2015).

First-Pitch is at 5:05 p.m.
