The Lehigh Valley IronPigs (42-35) saw every hitter in their lineup record at least one hit in their 9-5 win over the Syracuse Mets (31- 45) on Saturday evening. The team recorded 18 hits in addition to Ricardo Sanchez (3-3) earning the win in a quality start.

The 'Pigs scored two runs against David Griffin (0-1) in the top of the second inning to take a 2-0 lead. Scott Kingery hit an RBI single that scored Ali Castillo and Dalton Guthrie followed with an RBI double that scored Kingery. Syracuse matched Lehigh Valley in the bottom of the second inning as Luke Ritter scored on a groundout and Mark Vientos hit a sacrifice fly that scored Quinn Brodey.

Jorge Bonifacio belted his tenth home run of the season in the top of the fourth inning against Griffen to give Lehigh Valley a 4-2 lead.

Griffin in his triple-A debut for Syracuse allowed four runs off nine hits through four innings pitched.

Lehigh Valley then tagged relief pitcher Trey Cobb for five runs in the top of the fifth inning to take a 9-2 lead. Will Toffey stole home for the first run of the inning. The stolen base was his ninth of the season. Josh Ockimey hit an RBI single that scored Dustin Peterson.

Rafael Marchan followed with an RBI double that scored Donny Sands. Ali Castillo then hit a two-run single that scored Ockimey and Marchan.

Patrick Mazeika hit a home run against Sanchez in the bottom of the sixth inning to cut Lehigh Valley's lead to 9-3. Sanchez left the game after 5 2/3 innings pitched. Joe Gatto proceeded to pitch 1 1/3 scoreless innings of relief.

Johneshwy Fargas hit a two-run home run against Michael Kelly in the bottom of the eighth inning to put the score at 9-5. Kelly retired the side in the bottom of the ninth inning to preserve the win for Lehigh Valley.

NEWS AND NOTES...

Against Syracuse The IronPigs have hit well against the Mets this season. Entering today, the 'Pigs are hitting .300 (121-for-403) with 34 doubles, two triples, 13 home runs, 58 RBI, 37 walks, 69 runs scored, and 12 stolen bases. In 10 games against the Mets, Jorge Bonifacio is hitting .368 (14-for-38) with five doubles, three home runs, seven RBI, three walks, and eight runs scored. In eight games against the Mets, Donny Sands is hitting .375 (12-for-32) with one double, one home run, three RBI, three walks, and eight runs scored. In four games pitched against Syracuse, Joe Gatto is 1-0 with a 1.35 ERA in 6 2/3 innings with 10 strikeouts and just one run allowed.

Hip Hip Jorge! Jorge Bonifacio has been red hot over the last 10 games, including hitting a home run in three straight games. Bonifacio is hitting .385 (15-for-39) with four doubles, four home runs, 10 RBI, four walks, and nine runs scored with two stolen bases.

Hitting Bill Sponsored by Will Will Toffey has played very well over his last 10 games, hitting .375 (15-for-40) with six doubles, one home run, six RBI, five walks, five runs scored, and three stolen bases. Toffey hit .338 (23-for-68) in June with 11 doubles, three home runs, 13 RBI, 13 walks, and nine runs scored with two stolen bases. Toffey is currently fourth in the International League with a .395 on-base percentage and tied for seventh with 18 doubles.

Thank You Mr. Dalton Like Will Toffey, Dalton Guthrie has played very well over his last 10 games, hitting .333 (13-for-39) with five doubles, three home runs, 11 RBI, five walks, 10 runs scored, and four stolen bases. In 21 games in June, Guthrie hit .286 (22-for-77) with five doubles, four home runs, 14 RBI, six walks, 14 runs scored, and five stolen bases.
