Legends Win Third Straight, Blank Drive Again

(WHITAKER BANK BALLPARK, Lexington, Ky.) Lexington pitchers Daniel Stumpf and Alec Mills shut out the Greenville Drive on three hits, all singles, as the Legends took a 1-0 victory Saturday night.

The Legends scored the game's only run on back-to-back doubles by Ethan Chapman and Raul Mondesi in the bottom of the third inning.

Stumpf (2-0), the Lexington starter, worked five and one-third innings. He allowed two hits, struck out five batters and walked four. He has not allowed an earned run in 15 and one-third innings pitched this season.

Mills finished the game, earning his first save. He gave up one hit, struck out six batters and walked none.

Justin Haley (0-2), the Greenville starter, took the loss. He allowed only the two doubles in the third inning. Haley struck out six and walked one.

The Legends have taken the first three games of the series, and have shut out the Drive for 26 consecutive innings. Greenville scored two runs in the first inning of the Legends' 13-2 win Thursday night. Lexington won 8-0 Friday night.

The series concludes Sunday. Game time is 1:35 p.m.
