
Saturday Night Pitching Duel Gives Braves Tough Loss

Rome, GA - The Rome Braves were defeated by the Asheville Tourists in a low scoring game 1-0 in front of 3,352 fans.
The Tourists scored their lone run in the fourth inning when Francisco Sosa hit a home run over the left field wall on a 3-2 pitch. Unfortunately that was all the Tourists needed to shutout the Braves.
Rafael Briceno (0-3) took the loss tonight but looked very strong. He pitched seven innings scattering seven hits while striking out five hitters and giving up only one earned run. Asheville starter T.J. Oakes (2-1) was awarded the win after pitching 5.2 innings and giving up only five hits.
