Lexington starter Emilio Ogando pitched seven strong innings, and Amalani Fukofuka hit a tie-breaking home run in the top of the sixth as the Legends got by the Greensboro Grasshoppers 3-2 Sunday afternoon in Greensboro.

Each team scored a run in the first inning. Lexington's Cody Jones led off the game with a single and moved to second on a ground out by D.J. Burt. Chase Vallot's two-out single brought Jones home.

In the bottom of the first, leadoff hitter Anfernee Seymour singled, went to second on a wild pitch, and to third on an errant pickoff throw by Ogando. Josh Naylor popped out, but Seymour scored when Angel Reyes grounded out.

The Grasshoppers took the lead in the third when Stone Garrett singled and came home on Reyes' double, but the Legends evened the score with a run in the fifth. They took the lead for good when Fukofuka connected in the sixth for his second home run of the season, a drive over the wall in right field.

In seven innings, Ogando (3-2) gave up five hits and two runs, one unearned. He struck out six batters and walked two. Julio Pinto pitched two hitless innings to pick up his first save.

Jeff Kinley (0-1), who relieved starter Steven Farnworth in the sixth inning, was the losing pitcher.

The four-game series is even at one win apiece and continues Monday night. Game time is 7 p.m.
