Frisco, TX - The Texas Legends (3-5) returned to the win column Friday night, defeating the Mexico City Capitanes (4-4) 110-101 at Comerica Center behind a career performance from rookie guard Miles Kelly.

Kelly exploded for a game-high 35 points and 10 rebounds off the bench, notching his first career double-double, while shooting 11-of-20 from the field and 4-of-8 from deep.

Matthew Cleveland posted 20 points and 10 rebounds, while Jamarion Sharp controlled the paint with 12 points, 10 boards, and 2 blocks. Zhaire Smith added 8 assists to go along with his signature defensive energy.

Mexico City was led by guard Boo Buie III, who finished with 26 points, and James Bouknight added 25 points, Isaih Moore chipped in with 20 points and a game-high 16 rebounds.

The Legends controlled the game from the outset, using a dominant stretch in the second and third quarters-including a 28-12 run out of halftime-to create separation they would maintain the rest of the way. The two teams will meet again Saturday night in the second of a back-to-back set at Comerica Center. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 PM CT as the Legends look to build on tonight's momentum and keep climbing the standings.
