(ASHEVILLE, N.C.) Matt Duffy, Brandon Meredith and Delino DeShields Jr. all homered, and Mike Foltynewicz earned his South Atlantic League-leading 12th victory as the Lexington Legends took a 9-6 win over the Asheville Tourists Tuesday night.

Duffy and Meredith hit back-to-back homers in the second inning to give the Legends a 2-0 lead.

The Tourists answered with two in the bottom of the third to tie the game, but the Legends scored three in the top of the fourth to take a 5-2 lead. Zach Johnson led off with a walk, and scored on a double by Duffy. Duffy advanced to third on a ground out by Meredith and scored on a single by Nolan Fontana. Justin Gominsky doubled, sending Fontana to third, from where he scored on a sacrifice fly by Jordan Scott.

DeShields led off the fifth with a home run to make the score 6-2, and Johnson hit a two-run double in the seventh to give the Legends an 8-2 lead. The two RBI increased Johnson's South Atlantic League-leading total to 91.

Asheville rallied with four runs in the bottom of the seventh, three on a home run by Harold Riggins, to close the gap to two at 8-6.

The Legends added a final run in the top of the ninth. DeShields bunted for a hit, and Ruben Sosa beat out an infield roller. Both moved up a base as Johnson grounded out, and DeShields scored on a wild pitch by Asheville reliever Ken Roberts.

Foltynewicz (12-3) worked the first five innings and equaled his season high with eight strikeouts. He allowed six hits and walked two batters. Dayan Diaz pitched a scoreless ninth inning to earn his 15th save.

Asheville starter Daniel Winkler (8-10) took the loss.
