"The Lexington Legends are proud partners with Susan G. Komen, and we are excited to host the 2011 Race for the Cure Kickoff event at Whitaker Bank Ballpark," said Adam English, the Legends' director of ticket operations and a member of the board of directors of the Lexington affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. "Hopefully, this event will get everyone involved excited about fundraising, and this year's race can raise more money than we ever have before. Ultimately, events like this will hopefully lead to a cure being found for a disease that affects so many women and men in the world. "

"Mary Allison Belshoff, Adam, and the entire Susan G. Komen team are incredible community partners," said Legends General Manager Andy Shea. "I'm proud that we can be a part of their operation."
