Legends Announce 24 Charity Jersey Nights

November 8, 2019 - NBA G League (G League)
Texas Legends News Release

FRISCO, TX - The Texas Legends are proud to announce, for the seventh straight year, 24 charitable partnerships that will be displayed across the 24 home games in the 2019-20 season. Each home game the team will suit up in a new jersey that represents a different local, regional, or national charity or cause in order to spread awareness and provide new exposure for the organization.

The Legends are the only team in NBA G League history to host 24 specialty jersey nights, and in doing so, never wear their designated "home" jerseys. The franchise began hosting 24 charity nights in the 2013-14 season and saw success from every angle. Charities and causes involved have consistently collected significant donations, increased volunteer hours, gained media exposure, and experienced millions of impressions worldwide.

"We emphasize community in everything we do, but that is most visible in our charity jersey nights," said Legends President and General Manager Malcolm Farmer. "We're proud to use our platform to emphasize this is bigger than basketball."

"Our players enjoy getting involved, from matching the uniforms to volunteering and being educated on each night's unique cause. They get to show that they're more than just basketball players and we join with our community to lift up the true Legends around us."

The jersey nights not only benefit the organizations but give fans something more than a basketball game to look forward to. The Legends fan base is educated each night on new outreach opportunities around them and avenues for their philanthropic efforts.

As with every year, each night is unique and varies in size of charity and sponsor, but each night has a purpose and a passion and people that power it. The Legends look forward to celebrating each one of them with the Legends nation fan base.
