Lawson Placed on the D.L., Hedrick Added to Roster

Portland, Maine- Portland Sea Dogs' right-handed pitcher Ryne Lawson has been placed on the disabled list, retroactive to April 13th. Right-handed pitcher Justin Hedrick joins the Sea Dogs from Extended Spring Training. Hedrick will wear uniform # 28.

Lawson made his first start of the season for the Sea Dogs on April 12th tossing 3.0 innings allowing one run on one hit. The 23 year-old made six appearances for Portland in 2008 posting a 1-1 record with a 4.06 ERA. He was selected by the Red Sox in the 30th round of the 2006 First-Year Player Draft.

Hedrick, 26 years-old, was signed as a minor league free agent by the Red Sox on April 1, 2009. Hedrick was originally signed by the San Francisco Giants in the sixth round of the 2004 First-Year Player Draft. He spent the last two seasons with the Connecticut Defenders in the Eastern League. In 2008 with the Defenders, he notched a 2-3 record with nine saves and a 1.37 ERA in 43 appearances.
