Curve/Aeros postponed

ALTOONA, Pa - The Altoona Curve and Akron Aeros (AA - Cleveland) scheduled game on Tuesday at 7:05 p.m. has been postponed due to inclement weather. The game will be rescheduled as part of a double-header on Friday, April 24 at 6:00 p.m. The teams will play a pair of seven inning games that night.

Altoona and Akron will play their scheduled game Wednesday at 10:35 a.m. Tuesday's scheduled starters will get the ball on Wednesday. Tony Watson (0-1, 12.27) will oppose Akron right-hander Hector Rondon (1-0, 1.59).

Wednesday's game can be heard on flagship station ESPN Radio 1430, WVAM and the Altoona Curve Radio Network with coverage beginning at 10:20 a.m.

The Curve will open on Thursday at 6:35 p.m. when they open a seven-game homestand, starting with a four-game set against the Erie SeaWolves (AA-Detroit). Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker and Super Bowl XLIII champion LaMarr Woodley will be on hand to throw out the night's first pitch and sign free autographs on the concourse during the game. The first 5,000 fans through the gates will take home a free 2009 Curve magnetic schedule, courtesy of Appliance Outlet. Also, a new-look, post-game fireworks show will cap off the evening.
