Manchester, N.H - Former Maine Black Bear Chris Bec delivered his first Double-A RBI with a single in the bottom of the ninth inning, but the Fisher Cats (Toronto Blue Jays Double-A affiliate) left the tying run at third in a 3-2 loss to the Portland Sea Dogs (Boston Red Sox) on Wednesday night at Delta Dental Stadium.

LJ Talley ripped a double to start the ninth inning and advanced to third on a wild pitch. Bec then singled to center to make it 3-2. After a single by Kevin Vicuña, Portland reliever Jose Adames retired Samad Taylor and Nick Podkul to end the game.

The Fisher Cats (5-9) took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the fourth inning, chasing Sea Dogs starter Enmanual De Jesus. A pair of two-out walks to Demi Orimoloye and Bec put runners on base. Vicuña then ripped a single back through the middle for the run.

Portland (9-5) was kept off the board by New Hampshire starter Kyle Johnston, who worked 5.1 innings and allowed four hits.

The Sea Dogs loaded the bases on a pair of singles and a walk before scoring a pair in the top of the seventh inning. Jeisson Rosario drew a bases-loaded walk and Pedro Castellanos hit a sacrifice fly to make it 2-1 Sea Dogs.

Johan Mieses hit his league-leading seventh homer, a solo shot in the eighth as Portland extended the lead to 3-1. Matthew Kent (W, 3-0) went four scoreless innings in relief to earn the win.

Brody Rodning (L, 0-1) took the loss.
