BINGHAMTON, NY - Peter Alonso's two-run shot in the bottom of the eighth proved to be the difference in the game as the Binghamton Rumble Ponies (25-22) picked up a 3-1 win over the Bowie Baysox (22-25) on Saturday night at NYSEG Stadium in Binghamton.

In the home half of the eighth, Jose Garcia led off with a single for Binghamton, was pinch-run for by Champ Stuart and scored on Alonso's home run with two outs in the frame.

RHP Christian Binford (3.0 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 2 ER, K) was dealt the loss for the Baysox and drops to 1-1 on the year.

LHP Daniel Zamora (1.0 IP, H, K) tossed a scoreless inning in relief and got the win for the Rumble Ponies to even his record at 1-1. RHP Eric Hanhold (1.0 IP, K) retired the side in order in the ninth to notch his seventh save.

The Baysox grabbed a 1-0 lead in the top of the first as Cedric Mullins led off with a single, stole second and scored on Ryan Mountcastle's two-out RBI double.

Mullins' single extended his hitting streak to 11 games, a season-high by a Baysox hitter.

Binghamton tied the game with a run in the second when Kevin Taylor led off with a double and scored two batters later on John Mora's RBI double.

Baysox starter Hunter Harvey (n/d) allowed the one run on five hits to go along with a walk and seven strikeouts in 5.0 IP.

Rumble Ponies starter Joseph Shaw (n/d) gave up one run on four hits while walking two and fanning four in seven innings of work.

Mullins (3-4, 2 SB, R) had a multi-hit game for manager Gary Kendall's squad.
