April 19, 2013 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Albany Devils News Release
ALBANY, NY -- With 4:59 remaining in regulation, Joe Whitney chipped in a rebound goal, helping the Albany Devils to a 3-2 victory against the Connecticut Whale Friday at Times Union Center. Harri Pesonen registered a pair of tallies and Keith Kinkaid made 21 saves for his 21st victory.
Pesonen's tallies erased a pair of Connecticut leads during the first two periods. After Connecticut's Kris Newbury scored at 10:21 of the first, Pesonen scored on a net-front scramble at 15:35 on the power play. Christian Thomas moved the Whale ahead 2-1 at 11:45 of the second, but again Pesonen answered. This time he fired a blistering wrister past Cameron Talbot at 14:34.
In the third, Whitney converted for his team-leading fifth game-winning goal of the year.
