B-Sens Fall to Monarchs, 2-1

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The Binghamton Senators welcomed the Manchester Monarchs to the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena on Friday night. Despite scoring first in the game, the B-Sens allowed a pair of unanswered goals allowing the Monarchs the 2-1 victory.
Center Pat Cannone drew first blood for the B-Sens just 4:06 into the first period. Shane Prince was credited the lone assist on the goal. The Monarchs tied the score before period's end as Tanner Pearson struck at 7:44, knotting the game 1-1.
With 8:25 remaining in the second period Marc Cheverie would take over in net for Nathan Lawson, holding the Monarchs scoreless through the rest of the frame.
Manchester scored the go-ahead goal early in the final period when Linden Vey hit the twine at the 26 second mark, unassisted.
Lawson stopped 16 of the 17 shots that he faced before exiting the game. Cheverie ultimately took the loss, stopping 11 of the 12 shots he faced. Martin Jones started in goal for Manchester saving 37 of Binghamton's 38 shots to earn his 26th win of the year.
The B-Sens return to action tomorrow as they host the Hershey Bears at 7:05 p.m. Fans can listen live on "Binghamton's Classic Hits" BIG 107.5 (WBBI-FM) beginning 15 minutes before game time as Grady Whittenburg, the voice of the B-Sens, hosts the Countdown to Faceoff.
