The Greybirds were able to cut the Rockies lead to 4-2, thanks to a double by Toups that scored Jecksson Flores from first, and another run plated on a wild. However, Grand Junction struck with a three run ninth. Alberto Rodriguez allowed a leadoff home run to Kevin Padlo, and Luis Jean triple in another run. Jean would later score on a passed ball for the third insurance run.
