
Las Vegas Wins Second Shootout at Orleans Arena

Las Vegas, NV -The Las Vegas Wranglers beat the Toledo Storm 5-4 in a shootout on Saturday night in front of 5,779 fans at the Orleans Arena. Dustin Johner scored once, assisted on two others, and scored the deciding goal in the shootout to lead Las Vegas to their second consecutive shootout victory at home. Rookie forward Dana Lattery scored once and assisted on one other to help lead Las Vegas to a 3-1-1 record. Captain Jason McBain and defenseman Christian Chartier also scored in the win. Goalie Marc Magliarditi stopped 33 of 37 Toledo shots for his first win of the year. The Wranglers out shot their opponent for a fifth consecutive game, 42-37.
The Wranglers got the scoring started midway through the first period as Christian Chartier found the back of the net on the power play for the 1-0 lead. Toledo tied the game with just eight seconds left in the second period as Pierre Luc Sleigher notched the equalizer.
Dana Lattery started the scoring for the Wranglers in the second period as he beat Logan Koopmans to give the Wranglers a one-goal lead. Jason McBain tallied his third goal of the year for the Wranglers at 7:17 of the second with a slapshot from the point. Dustin Johner and Patrick Nilson added helpers on the goal that put the Wranglers up 3-1. The Toledo Storm answered back as Dan Eberly got lose on a breakaway and beat Marc Magliarditi. PJ Martin tied the game 3-3 with a goal at 9:51 of the second.
Maris Ziedins started the scoring for the Storm on the power play at 4:34 of the third period. The Wranglers would answer back on Dustin Johner's second goal of the season with Lattery and John Krall adding assists on the game-tying goal.
After a scoreless overtime the game went to a shootout. In the shootout, Marc Magliarditi stopped three of four shooters. The Wranglers capitalized in the shootout scoring on three of their four attempts. Rejean Stringer tallied the first goal in the shootout. The Storm answered back with Sam Paolini tying the shootout. Chris Stanley then tallied again for the Wranglers and Johner locked it up the win with the deciding goal in the shootout.
Tuesday night the Wranglers will host the Alaska Aces at 7:05 pm. The Aces feature NHLer Scott Gomez who plays for the New Jersey Devils. Gomez is suiting up for the Aces during the NHL Lockout.
