Victoria Salmon Kings News Release

Boise, Idaho – The Victoria Salmon Kings two game winning streak came to an end tonight with a 6-2 defeat at the hands of the Idaho Steelheads. The loss drops the Salmon Kings record to 2 wins and 3 losses in their inaugural season.

The Steeleheads bombarded Salmon Kings goaltender David Brumby, making his 5th consecutive start, with 17 first period shots to come out with a 4-0 first period lead. The Salmon Kings replied with nine shots of their own but could not beat Steelheads goalie Colin Zulianello.

The second period proved to be just as difficult for the Salmon Kings as they gave up goals to Bobby Russell and Scott Burt to put the Steelheads up 6 – 0 heading into the third.

Duncan, BC born Jeff Stone replace Brumby in the 3rd period and held the Steelhead scoreless on seven shots while Ryan Watson scored his first for the Salmon Kings and Ryan Finnerty scored his 3rd goal in two nights to make the final score 6 – 2.

The Salmon Kings return from Boise for four days of rest before heading back out on the road for games in Long Beach, CA, Las Vegas, NV and Fresno CA November 10th through 12th.
