Las Vegas Lights FC News Release
Las Vegas Lights FC today announced that the club has signed forward Oalex Anderson, pending league and federation approval.
Anderson is under contract with the Lights through the 2026 season.
The 30-year-old forward made 27 appearances for North Carolina FC last year, scoring eight goals and giving out three assists as the Cary side made the USL Championship Eastern Conference semifinals. He became the club's all-time leading goalscorer in late 2024, boasting 45 goals for NCFC.
"We're thrilled to welcome Oalex to the Lights," said Sporting Director Gianleonardo Neglia. "He's a dynamic forward who excels as both a winger and a striker with blistering speed. The opportunity to have three proven USL Championship goal scorers on the field at the same time - Oalex Anderson, Johnny Rodriguez, and Manuel Arteaga - is an exciting prospect. Adding him to Head Coach Devin Rensing's attacking options is the cherry on top of a rebuilt attack that we look forward to seeing take the field in 2026."
Anderson first played for System 3 FC of the Saint Vincent and the Grenadines top tier before heading to Grenades FC of the Antigua and Barbuda Premier Division, where he scored 12 goals in 18 matches.
In 2015, Anderson joined Seattle Sounders FC 2 in USL, tallying 16 appearances and scoring five goals. In 2016, he joined the Sounders' first team in MLS, participating in 15 matches as The Rave Green went on to win the MLS Cup.
In 2020, he signed for Richmond Kickers after returning from injury, making 31 appearances, scoring five goals, and giving out 5 assists across two seasons.
Anderson joined North Carolina FC in 2022 for their second season in USL League One. The Vincentian forward made 61 appearances for the North Carolinians in their League One phase, scoring 24 goals and contributing with 15 assists. North Carolina won the USL League One title in 2023, with Anderson ending as runner-up in the Golden Boot race with 17 goals.
Back in the Championship, the Barrouallie, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines native contributed significantly to North Carolina's back-to-back playoff clinching campaigns in 2024 and 2025, tallying 58 appearances in all competitions, scoring 21 goals, and giving out seven assists.
A Saint Vincent and the Grenadines international, Anderson has scored 26 goals in 52 matches for the Vincy Heat, holding third place in the all-time goalscorers ranking for his national team.
Las Vegas will kick off the 2026 home schedule on Saturday, March 28 against Monterey Bay FC. Tickets are available now at lasvegaslightsfc.com/tickets.
