Las Vegas Wranglers News Release

Las Vegas, NV - The Las Vegas Wranglers announced today that the team has received right wing Thomas Bellemare from the Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights of the American Hockey League and defenseman Adam Pardy has been recalled by Omaha.

Bellemare returns after a two-game call up to the AHL. Bellemare was scoreless with five penalty minutes during his time in Omaha. He is in the midst of his second season of professional hockey after splitting time between the Charlotte Checkers and the Texas Wildcatters of the ECHL last season. The 6-foot-3, 215-pound winger started the season in Texas, picking up one assist and racking up 82 penalty minutes in 29 games. With the Checkers, Bellemare scored four goals and added two assists for six points in 36 games, as well as racking up 117 penalty minutes. Bellemare was drafted by the Calgary Flames in the seventh round (#206 overall) of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. During the 2002-03 season, Bellemare was among the top Canadian junior players with 474 penalty minutes in 67 games.

Pardy returns to the Knights after three games with the Wranglers. Pardy was scoreless with four penalty minutes. Pardy played his first professional game for the Ak-Sar-Ben Knights in a 1-0 win at Iowa on October 8th. He completed his junior career in 2004-05 with the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles of the QMJHL. The 6-foot-3, 225-pounder set career highs for games played (69), goals (12), assists (27), points (39) and penalty minutes (163). The native of Bonavista, Newfoundland was the Flames sixth pick, 173rd overall, in the 2004 Entry Draft. Pardy was originally assigned to Las Vegas on October 17.

Las Vegas will return home to host the Phoenix Roadrunners at 7:05 pm on Friday, November 4th. The Wranglers will hand out 5,000 magnetic schedules prior to the game. Due to the aftermath of Hurricane Rita and its effects on the Texas Wildcatters professional hockey team, the Las Vegas Wranglers have made a change to their 2005-2006 schedule, adding a home game Nov. 4 and donating $5 for every ticket sold for this game to hurricane relief efforts. For each $5 donation made by the Wranglers, the Nevada law firm of Kummer Kaempfer Bonner Renshaw & Ferrario (KKBR&F) will match the amount, donating up to $15,000 for relief efforts.

Wranglers' ticket locations are the Orleans Arena Box Office, Coast Casinos' showroom box offices at The Orleans, Gold Coast, Suncoast and South Coast (opening in 2006) or at the Galleria Mall guest relations/ticket centers.
