Hrdel Recalled To Springfield

Johnstown, PA (November 3, 2005) - The Johnstown Chiefs announced today that Zbynek Hrdel has been recalled to the AHL's Springfield Falcons. Hrdel will be available for the Falcons game tomorrow night at Wilkes Barre/Scranton.

Hrdel has played in five games for the Chiefs this season collecting two goals and one assist for three points and two penalty minutes. Hrdel is tied for the Johnstown team lead in goals and second on the club in scoring. Hrdel also leads the Chiefs in shots on goal with 17. The 6-foot-4, 195-pound native of Pisek, Czech Republic is in his first season of professional hockey after spending the previous three seasons with Rimouski of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. Hrdel was selected by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the 9th round (286th overall) in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.

The 2005-2006 season is presented by First National Bank. The Chiefs are back on home ice Saturday night when they host the Wheeling Nailers at 7:00 p.m. The Greater Johnstown Jaycees will be holding a canned food drive prior to the game. For tickets call 1-800-CHF-TIXX.
