Lansing Lugnuts News Release
LANSING, Mich. - Do you have a brilliant idea to benefit your community? Make your pitch, and the Lansing Lugnuts and Fifth Third Bank could help make your idea a home run!
The Lugnuts and Fifth Third Bank are partnering for the second year of "Pitch-A-Project," a grant program aimed at empowering participants with ideas to better their neighborhoods in the Mid-Michigan community.
"Fifth Third Bank is proud to present our second annual "Pitch-A-Project" competition, representing our commitment to the community and the families we serve," said Jason Sanders, Mid-Michigan Market President. "It's a pleasure to work with the Lansing Lugnuts in promoting and supporting positive community initiatives."
Each proposed project must fall under one of Fifth Third Bank's four pillars of community building - Economic Development, Education, Wellness and Community Service - with a winner selected from each category.
Those four categories are defined on the Pitch-A-Project page at lansinglugnuts.com, along with registration information and project requirements. Information will also be available at a special table set up on the concourse at Cooley Law School Stadium during all Lugnuts home games and at local Fifth Third Bank branches.
The deadline for registration is June 21st, at which time representatives from Fifth Third Bank will select the three finalists in each category. The Greater Lansing community will then have the opportunity to vote online and at the ballpark in order to determine the winner in each category. The winner in each category will be awarded $1,000 to bring her or his idea to life.
"We're excited to work with Fifth Third Bank in giving back to the Mid-Michigan region," said Lugnuts General Manager Nick Grueser. "We encourage everyone who enters to swing for the fences with their most inspired ideas - and we can't wait to see the submissions."
