
South Bend Shuts out Captains 3-0

Lake County Captains News Release
(Eastlake, OH) - The South Bend Silver Hawks (20-9) defeated the Lake County Captains (10-20) by a final of 3-0 on Wednesday Night at Classic Park. South Bend had a 2-0 lead and added an insurance run in the bottom of the ninth inning. Pedro Ruiz doubled and moved to third on a wild pitch, and scored on an infield single by Breland Almadova and South Bend led 3-0.
South Bend scored a run in the sixth inning. Fidel Pena doubled and scored on an sacrifice fly by Brandon Drury. It was 1-0 Silver Hawks. South Bend added another run in the seventh. Pedro Ruiz reached on a fielder's choice and scored on a double by Almadova. The score was 2-0 headed to the eighth inning.
RHP Nick Pasquale started the game for the Captains. Pasquale pitched four scoreless innings. He allowed just three hits and struck out three. Pasquale did not get a decision. Michael Peoples (1-2) got the loss. Peoples pitched three innings, and allowed four hits, two runs, one run was earned. Peoples also struck out one. Josh Martin pitched a scoreless inning for the Captains. Louis Head pitched the ninth for the Captains and allowed one run.
LHP Daniel Watts got the ball for South Bend. Watts pitched eight scoreless innings, allowing four hits one walk and he struck out five. Watts (5-0) got the win for the Silver Hawks. RJ Hively pitched the ninth for South Bend and earned the save his eighth of the season.
Thursday night is Thirsty Thursday, presented by ESPN 850 WKNR, featuring 25-cent beer Happy Hour for one hour before game time and half-price draft beer and fountain soda until 9 PM. A wing and pizza buffet will also be available outside the Corona Castaways Bar featuring Happy Moose Bar and Grill wing sauces and pizza from Cleveland Pizza Company.
Thursday is also Date Night, which provides couples with the opportunity to purchase two tickets to The Officer's Club Suite and enjoy a buffet dinner, a $56 value, for only $32
Lake County will start RHP Jake Sisco (0-2, 2.36) on Thursday Night. South Bend will counter with RHP Brandon Sinnery (0-0, 0.67). First pitch is at 6:30 PM.
