November 14, 2004 - ECHL (ECHL)
Bakersfield Condors News Release

Bakersfield, Calif. - Ashlee Langdone's breakaway goal at 7:41 of the second period proved to be the game winner, doing in his former team as the Bakersfield Condors defeated the San Diego Gulls 4-1 in front of 5,390 fans at Centennial Garden on Saturday night.

Paul Rosebush's blast at 8:10 of the opening frame on the power play gave Bakersfield the lead - the first time in the last four games the Condors got the first goal. The Gulls answered with a power play tally of their own just three minutes later to make it 1-1 after one.

Bakersfield pushed ahead in the second with the work of their ECHL-best power play. Langdone broke in alone and lifted a backhandeder past Trevor Koenig for his second goal in as many nights for the 2-1 lead. Later at 14:02 of the second stanza, Brad Mehalko chipped in a rebound to make it 3-1 with the Condors sixth power play goal in the last two nights.

Bakersfield used their speed and physical play in the third to hold the lead and appeared to tire the San Diego crew. After making a pair of devastating checks in the third, Langdone absorbed a massive hit in the final minute of play in order to clear the zone and lead Mehalko on his way to an empty net tally and his second of the night to bring the score to 4- 1. Randy Petruk stopped 27 shots in the game for his sixth win of the season, which leads the ECHL, and gives the Condors a league-best 7-0-1 record.

The jersey auction of the team's game-worn Veterans' Day USA jerseys brought in $16,375 for the Ronald McDonald House. The top bid was $2,000 for L.A. Kings rookie sensation Connor James.

The Condors hit the road on Wednesday night when they travel to San Diego for just their second road game of the year. On Thursday, November 18th the Condors host Student ID Night, courtesy of WB- TV 12 and 106.1 KRAB Radio.
