
Landmesser is All-CHL for second straight season

SOUTHAVEN, MS --- Having a career season, Memphis RiverKings defenseman Derek Landmesser was named today (Monday) to the 2006 All-CHL Team. It is the second season that the league has named an All-CHL Team and the second season that Landmesser has been so honored.
Landmesser, in his 10th pro season and fifth season with Memphis, has established single-season career highs with his current totals of 75 points and 59 assists. He has also scored 16 goals on the season; the second most in his career.
He currently leads all CHL defensemen in goals, assists and points and leads the RiverKings in assists and points. His 23 multiple point games and 13 multiple assist games also lead the team.
The Thunder Bay, Ontario native played in his fourth straight CHL All-Star Game in January and is a finalist for the league's Most Outstanding Defenseman. That award will be announced Thursday morning. In his professional career, Landmesser has 92 goals, 377 assist and 469 points in 608 games played.
In the RiverKings' record book, he is third all-time with 303 games played, third with 301 points and is also third with 248 assists.
The other members of the 2006 All-CHL Team are: forwards Jeff Christian from Youngstown, Derek Hahn from Amarillo and Greg Pankewicz from Colorado; defenseman Serge Dube from Laredo and goalie Ken Carroll from Bossier-Shreveport.
Landmeser and the RiverKings have four games remaining in the 2005-2006 regular season. They play their final two road games tomorrow (Tuesday) and Thursday night at Bossier-Shreveport before returning home to close out the season on Friday and Saturday versus Austin and Tulsa, respectively, at the DeSoto Civic Center.
