Jeff Christian Named to 2005-06 All-CHL Team

YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO - Youngstown SteelHounds Head Coach J.F. Laforest announced today, in conjunction with the Central Hockey League (CHL), that forward Jeff Christian has been named to the 2005-06 All-CHL Team.

Christian currently leads the CHL with 52 goals and ranks second with 96 points. He joins Amarillo's Derek Hahn, Colorado's Greg Pankewicz as the forwards on the team along with defensemen Serge Dube (Laredo) and Derek Landmesser (Memphis) and Bossier-Shreveport goaltender Ken Carroll.

"As an organization, we are very proud of Jeff's accomplishments," said Laforest. "He has represented the SteelHounds well in the team's inaugural season and we are appreciative of his work ethic and professionalism and the strong standing he holds within the CHL."

The Burlington, Ontario native also ranks among the league's best with 19 power play goals (second), nine game winning goals (tied for first) and four shorthanded goals (tied for fourth).

The SteelHounds Captain has enjoyed a remarkable season that three times has seen him named the CHL Oakley Player of the Week. He leads the Hounds with 29 multiple point games including 15 multiple goal games.

Christian has previously been named one of the six finalists for the CHL Most Valuable Player Award which will be announced on Friday, March 24th.
