
Three Bucks Honored

LAREDO, Texas - The Central Hockey League announced today that Laredo Bucks defenseman Serge Dube has been selected to the year end All CHL-Team. In addition goalie Dov Grumet-Morris and defenseman Adam Rivet have been selected to the CHL All-Rookie Team. The Bucks close the 2005-06 CHL regular season by hosting the Corpus Christi Rayz on Sunday at the Laredo Entertainment Center. The All-CHL and All-Rookie teams are selected in balloting by the head coaches around the CHL.
Dube, a native of Sudbury, Ontario, started for the Southern Conference in the All-Star Game. He leads all Bucks defenseman with 52 points and is fourth overall on the team in points. He is fifth among all CHL defenseman in total points and second with a +36 plus/minus rating. He also leads all Bucks defenseman with 39 assists and is second on the team with 13 goals. He has been called up twice this season to San Antonio in the American Hockey League.
"I am very proud of all three of these players," Bucks head coach Terry Ruskowski said. "Serge has been the mainstay of our team this year. He controls the flow of the game and makes good decisions. He is a heck of a defenseman and has been a terrific leader for us. He certainly is deserving of this honor."
The other members of the All-CHL team were forwards Greg Pankewicz of Colorado, Derek Hahn of Amarillo, and Jeff Christian of Youngstown. Defenseman Derek Landmesser of Memphis joined Dube on the blue line, while Ken Carroll of Bossier-Shreveport was the goalie.
Laredo's Dov Grumet-Morris was selected as the All-Rookie goaltender, currently leading the
CHL with a goals against average of 2.04. Grumet-Morris has posted a save percentage of
.926, trailing only teammate David Lemanowicz who is at .927, while compiling a record
of 17-5-2. A fifth round draft pick of the Philadelphia Flyers in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft, the
Evanston, Illinois native is a Harvard graduate, where he holds 13 school records.
"Dov's past record has been tremendous, he was a finalist for the Hobey Baker award last year in college," Ruskowski said. He has done and will continue to do a tremendous job for us because he studies the game and prepares very well. He and Lemanowicz have been a huge asset for us in net this season."
Rivet, from Fort Erie, Ontario, leads the CHL with a +39 plus/minus rating and has 16 goals and 22 assists for the Southeast Division champion Bucks. His 16 goals are tied for the CHL lead among defenseman.
"Adam's play has exceeded my expectations this year," Ruskowski said. "He is a great kid who is easy to coach. He does things the right way on and off the ice. I am glad to see that the CHL and the coaches around the league see the same things that I do. He is a heck of a defenseman."
The other members of the CHL All-Rookie team were forwards Jim Dahl of Tulsa, Dominic Leveille of Odessa, Mike Tucciarone of Austin and defenseman Dale Lupul of Bossier-Shreveport.
Bucks season ticket holders have until Friday to purchase their seats for the 2006 CHL playoffs. Season ticket holders should contact a Bucks ticket representative to purchase their playoff seats.
Individual single game Bucks playoff tickets start at $14.50. Groups of 10 or more can be arranged starting at $11 per ticket.
